The conference will offer unparalleled networking opportunities with politicians, business leaders, media and thought provoking influencers.

The Yorkshire Post will partner with the Leeds Digital Festival and techUK to shape the agenda and themes of the conference.

The full-day event will take place on 19th September 2023 in Leeds, and will be attended by over 150 guests from across Yorkshire’s data and digital sector, ranging from small independent businesses to large businesses.

The event will welcome a dynamic programme of speakers who will debate key topics which impact businesses. The outcomes from the conference will be documented in a special report published in The Yorkshire Post.

Sue leads techUK’s Technology and Innovation work. This includes work programmes on cloud, data protection, data analytics, AI, digital ethics, Digital Identity and Internet of Things as well as emerging and transformative technologies and innovation policy.

Lianne Potter
Cyber Anthropologist at The AnthroSecurist and Head of Security Operations at a Major Retailer –
As the Head of SecOps for the largest greenfield technology transformation project in Europe, Lianne is building a leading edge security team from scratch to meet the needs of a modern retail organisation while empowering her team to think innovatively to create new standards in best practices.

Stephen Westland
Professor of Colour Science – The University of Leeds
Stephen Westland is Professor of Colour Science at the University of Leeds where he has led the AI theme for the Future Fashion Factory – a government funded Creative Cluster project – for the last 5 years. He has worked in AI since the early 90s when he was part of a team that developed a Masters course in Machine Perception and Neurocomputing. Over the last 30 years he has researched various aspects of machine learning and has worked with companies to develop software solutions. He is currently interested in Deep Learning and Extreme Learning Machines.

Dan Patefield
Head of Cyber and National Security – techUK
Dan leads the techUK Cyber Security programme, having originally joined techUK in August 2017 as a Programme Manager working across the Cyber and Defence programmes. He is responsible for managing techUK’s work across the cyber security eco-system, bringing industry together with key stakeholders across the public and private sectors.

Emma Presley-Abbott
Head of Enterprise Insight – DWP Digital
Emma Presley Abbott is a Deputy Director within Data and Analytics at DWP Digital, as Head of Enterprise Insight. Essentially, responsible for the department’s Enterprise Reporting Service and data platform that provides a set of reporting services and solutions. This enables all colleagues across the department to be able to use data to support their decision- making.

Stuart Clarke MBE
Festival Director – Leeds Digital Festival
Stuart Clarke MBE is the Festival Director of the Leeds Digital Festival. He is also the founder of Paceline PR consultancy and the creator of the Leeds Tech Map.

Jeff Watkins
CPTO – xDesign
Jeff is CPTO for xDesign. A lifelong technologist with nearly 25 years’ experience in the industry. He is particularly interested in Cybersecurity and AI and how both will shape our future.

Aesha Zafar
Head of Strategic Capability – DWP Digital
Aesha’s focus is on ensuring each individual’s capability, potential and brilliance is recognised, harnessed and developed. Philip White is the founder and managing director of Audacia – an 80-person technology consultancy specialising in engineering, data, AI, and cloud. Philip has spent the majority of his career working on enterprise technology projects, working in a number of senior software roles specialising in trading and risk management, prior to founding Audacia.

Faye has worked in e-commerce, finance and other digital organisations in both delivery and product roles. Faye has a wide range of experience, all of which had very different product and delivery challenges and were at different stages in their agile journey.

Suzie Bell is a Project Manager at Ahead Partnership and the Project Lead on Growing Talent Digital Leeds. With a background focused on doing good, Suzie has spent her career in roles improving opportunities for the community. As Project Manager, Suzie leads and delivers social value programmes, in partnership with purposeful businesses and schools.

Jo Stansfield

Jo Stansfield is Founder and Director of Inclusioneering, a social enterprise supporting innovative tech and engineering organisations with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) solutions and consultancy.
