Advanced technology such as AI has recently transformed the way learning, teaching and operations are accomplished in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Technologies such as intelligent mobile apps, gamification apps and VR/AR have been used to enhance the overall educational experience and empower the future of HE.
The potential of these technologies in HE is countless ranging from enabling personalised learning experiences, measuring engagement and performance to facilitating virtual international collaboration without the need to travel.
The Globalizer is a new mobile app that allows university students to gain vital skills to develop into global professionals. Only a tiny percentage of students have the financial ability to take advantage of international study abroad programmes. But virtual international collaboration in the classroom makes global connections possible for all students. The way to form those valuable partnerships is to find projects through the Globalizer app, which allows everyone to experience an international connection without travelling physically. This is a sustainable democratic way to enable all students to gain international skills.
The audience for this workshop is academics, students and software industry experts. It aims to spread the word and disseminate knowledge of potential technological integration that empowers educators and their students to have the best experience. This will also include launching the open-source app and introducing it to the Higher Education community to have an impact on those wanting to internationalise the curriculum and create opportunities for their students. We aim to revolutionise education, unlock potential and empower the HE stakeholders with the skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
The workshop will be facilitated by two academics from Leeds Trinity University and in partnership with Sherin Mathew – Founder & CEO of AI-Tech-North who will add a valuable industrial perspective to the discussion.
