Minister Scully will be discussing the fantastic work being delivered by Tech Talent Charter through a government-funded grant, and government and industry collaboration is key to fuelling diversity and inclusion in technology roles. With a particular focus on West Yorkshire, this event will give attendees an opportunity to gain firsthand insight on the government’s priorities for ensuring a digital workforce that is representative of the UK tech sector, and how this will support the UK to cement its position as a science and tech superpower.
Paul Scully, Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy
Paul Scully was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy) at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology on 7 February 2023. He is also Minister for London, having been appointed on 13 February 2020. He was elected the Conservative MP for Sutton and Cheam on 7 May 2015.
Debbie Forster, CEO of Tech Talent Charter
Debbie Forster MBE is an award-winning figure in the areas of diversity, tech, and education and the CEO of the Tech Talent Charter, an industry collective which aims to deliver inclusion and diversity in the UK tech workforce. Debbie was awarded an MBE in January 2017 for “Services to Digital Technology and Tech Development; and named as the Most Influential Woman in UK IT for 2019 by Computer Weekly. As part of her wider portfolio, Debbie chairs the Institute of Coding’s Diversity Board, serves on both the government’s Digital Economy Council and its National Cyber Advisory Board. She is also a NED for the Lending Standards board in the UK and the financial software company Temenos.
