BJSS return to Leeds Digital Festival for a 5th year, this time as Premier sponsors, to deliver “The Story of an International Consultancy Born in Leeds”.
From New York to Lisbon and back again, the event will invite members of the globe-spanning BJSS team to discuss what motivated them to take the international lead, how working for an international powerhouse has helped further their career, and what it might be able to do for yours.
We’ll be joined by Rich McIntyre, Chief Engineer at BJSS Leeds who before joining the team in the Leeds office, spent 15 years living in Japan and working on exciting tech projects with the likes of the BBC, Sky & DAZN.
Sarah Tulip, Head of Digital Transformation will also join the panel; Sarah leads the global client portfolio in change and growth, and previously led Digital for EY across the North. She’s also the Digital Ambassador for the City of Leeds, and a champion for lesser heard voices across digital through her organisation WILD – a community led not-for-profit organisation focused on addressing the skills gap, inclusively.
Next up is Pedro Ferreira, Head of Delivery. Originally joining the BJSS Leeds team and helping to establish the local chapter of SPARCK, Pedro has contributed heavily to a number of exciting projects within the UK tech sector (including the UK Gov’s NHS app) and is now spearheading the expansion of BJSS into Lisbon, Portugal.
Regional Capability Lead, Hannah Ellston also joins the panel, bringing over 20 years worth of IT experience with her. Hannah’s career in tech has largely centred around Delivery Management, though in her role as Regional Capability Lead she is focussed on supporting the BJSS team and raising awareness of the brilliant work they do both in-house and externally through a series of events, blogs, case studies and regular community meet-ups.
Mark Bradshaw is the Delivery Management Capability Lead for BJSS USA who after originally joining the team in 2010 as a Net developer, emigrated to Hong Kong to work as a remote SQL Developer / Technical Lead for a “Big Data” Consultancy. Upon moving back to the UK some years later, Mark rejoined BJSS as a Technical Project Manager and member of the Leeds Development and Architecture Capability Leadership Group before transferring to the New York office in 2019 as a Technical Project Manager, and taking on the role of Delivery Management Capability Lead for USA.
Rounding off the panel of international BJSS’ers is Rebecca Walton: Rebecca has worked as a BJSS Software Engineer for the past 3 years – having spent 4 years working in backend development before this – and largely works within the healthcare domain, which is an area she’s incredibly passionate about.
