Introducing the new face behind LDF2018

22nd January 2018

Leeds Digital Festival 2018 is back, but sadly the marketing guru behind previous festivals has been called away to ski the crystal slopes of Chamonix (or some such enviable location). While there may be a Tim-Brazier-shaped hole in the Leeds tech scene, never fear: we have a new recruit to mastermind the operation alongside the Festival Director Stuart Clarke.

Meet Charlotte, a recent graduate in Chinese & Spanish from the University of Leeds, former Enterprise Scholar, and lover of adventure – whether into the brave new world of technology, or running a half marathon on the Great Wall of China. When she’s not busy working on her startup, MOTIVATEE, launching in April this year, an online shop that donates 40% of its profits to Leeds MIND and host its blog The Anxious Entrepreneur, which tackles all things mental health and business, Charlotte is here behind the screens organising Leeds Digital Festival between running for endless amounts of coffee and popping into various networking events around the city. (Definitely not for the free food and drink, mind…)

While not inherently “tecchy” – unless you count a love of pizza, beer and using her laptop until unreasonable hours as tecchy – Charlotte is eager to ensure no one is left behind as we power towards a world where tech is king. As well as being excited to keep up with socioeconomic trends (something she attributes to her background in fashion design and modules in East Asian Regional Political Economy), she is an avid learner – having tackled Mandarin and Spanish, she is now taking on HTML and CSS. And after researching gender equality in Franco’s Spain and Modern China, she is now turning her sights on the gender equality of the future.

With a background and interests as diverse as her skillset, we’re sure Charlotte will do all she can to help put on a great festival for you all.

Any questions or queries, please get in touch (she likes having some human interaction occasionally!)
