Learn to craft your very own musical algorithms at our Live Coding workshop on 29th April. Live Coding is the art of generating next-level electronic music using programming languages by interactively defining, and re-defining, musical algorithms. This workshop will give you the opportunity to get a guided tour of the art of Algorave: software you can dance to.
You'll be able to explore popular live coding languages such as TidalCycles (https://tidalcycles.org/), ixi-lang (http://www.ixi-audio.net/ixilang/) and FoxDot (http://foxdot.org/) with Algorave experts and receive hands on guidance from installation through to dropping beats. This workshop is aimed at beginner's and advanced users alike so don't worry if you don't have any experience with programming or music - all you need is your laptop, a pair of headphones, and some enthusiasm.
The workshop will consist of three round-table groups that will give you a flavour of each the different tools available led by Dorien Schampaert, Lucy Cheesman, and Ryan Kirkbride. We look forward to seeing you there!
Buy a special bundle ticket - admission to ALGORAVE on 28 April at ODI Leeds plus admission to the live coding workshop.
