#WECAN Connects: 25.09.24

Organised by Leeds Beckett University

Introducing #WECAN Connects: it is a quarterly event series brought to you by #WECAN with support from Lloyds Bank Business & Commercial.

Cambridge Dictionary defines the word connections as “the people you know and who can help you.” That’s what #WECAN Connects is all about. Connecting you with women, businesses and available support to help you as a woman entrepreneur, woman founder or woman in business.

At our next edition of #WECAN Connects we will be bringing our #WECAN community together again to connect & learn as we explore sustainability and tech asking “What even is a digital footprint?”

Starting on your sustainable journey with technology can seem daunting, but there are simple steps we can all easily learn and implement in both our professional and personal lives! At this event you will:

  • Learn why sustainable technology is important to you and your business
  • Take home easy to implement actions
  • Hear top advice from local sustainability and tech champions

This event is open to all women in business from any sector. Content will be aimed at those who are new to learning about sustainable technology but will provide a great refresher for those familiar!

Who are we?

Led by Leeds Business School at Leeds Beckett University in partnership with Edge Hill University and SEYH, the #WECAN Network is a community of women, businesses and supporting organisations supported by Lloyds Bank Business & Commercial. To put it simply – we support, champion and connect women in leadership. We support you by developing your leadership skills and confidence. We champion you by celebrating your successes and amplifying your voices. We connect you with other women, businesses, and available support.

How did we start?

#WECAN (women empowered through coaching and networking) initially started as a three year project part-funded by the European Social Fund. Led by Leeds Beckett University and working in partnership with Edge Hill University and SEYH (Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber) the project built the leadership skills, capabilities, and opportunities of over 900 women from over 300 SMEs, charities and social enterprises in the Leeds City Region. Whilst the project came to an end officially in December 2023, our commitment to supporting women and organisations has only grown and we continue to support, champion and connect women in leadership through the #WECAN Network.

What do we offer?

The #WECAN Network gives you access to a supportive community of women, businesses and supporting organisations alongside:

  • Knowledge, expertise, and talent at Leeds Beckett University and our partners
  • Workshops hosted by leadership development specialists
  • Opportunities to connect at networking and co-working days bespoke to you
  • The latest news, opportunities, and tailored resources
