We don’t need no (AI) education?

Organised by Freeths LLP

As AI becomes an increasingly ubiquitous part of our modern world, we are all having to learn fast in order to keep up. But the rapid pace of AI evolution poses some challenging questions:

  • Can we take the chance of bringing new and poorly understood technology into our schools and colleges, into the process of educating our children? And can we afford not to?
  • Can schools continue to educate without regard to the opportunities and challenges presented by freely available generative AI?
  • Should the convenience of biometric identification of students over-ride the legitimate concerns that some parents and students have about the intrusiveness of the technology?
  • And what about the implications for diversity, for digital equality, and for the environment of embracing an AI-enabled education future?

These are the questions that Will and Mona, Freeths lawyers and hosts of the podcast ‘A Spoonful of Data’, will be aiming to tackle in this new episode, recorded in front of a live audience as part of the Leeds Digital Festival (please note that the audio will be recorded at this event). This event is free to attend and lunch will be provided. Please arrive from 1:15pm, lunch will be served at 1:30pm with the session starting at 2pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
