The Future of Law: Overcoming Regulatory Barriers to Digital Work Placements

This event offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from students about their placement experiences – the challenges they faced, the milestones they achieved, and what they learned during their placement. They’ll share their journeys, discuss their interests in various areas of technology and law, and offer valuable advice for those considering a career in these fields.

Law as a profession is only as strong as those who work within it, and it must be a diverse community to best serve the people who use legal services.

We must break down barriers and invite young people from all backgrounds to gain meaningful legal work experience – this is what gives us strength in the profession that can best serve society.

This panel, hosted by Lucia Morales-Gibney, L&D leader and PEXA ESG advocate features our talented school placement graduates from New College Bradford and representatives from PEXA.

The panel will also discuss:

  • The challenges that placements in Law can bring – including data protection of customer and client data, client contractual obligations, safeguarding issues and background check.
  • How PEXA designed and delivered its placement programme (now in it’s third year!) including how we facilicated the whole process digitally, how it went, who we partnered with and why.
  • Outcomes of the students from the programme.
  • How businesses can get involved and bring meaningful work placements to life.
This event is aimed at: L&D, Partnerships, Community and ESG roles, Law Firms, students and anyone interested in improving the placements landscape.
