Exploring Scientific Software Architecture: Lhasa and Codurance will be hosting an Architecture Kata at Lhasa’s Leeds office, as part of the Leeds Digital Festival.
Lhasa create software solutions to inform decision making on chemical safety, which streamline drug development and minimise animal testing.
Codurance is a Global Software Engineering consultancy, committed to the ethos of software craftsmanship and community engagement.
During this Architecture Kata, you will be split into teams and presented with a business problem/use case (related to scientific solution architecture) to solve in groups. You don’t need a scientific background to participate. Within groups, you’ll have an opportunity to design a solution architecture to meet that problem context. As in real life, you’ll have the opportunity to manage various trade-offs in your design and interact with a Product Owner to clarify your questions.
At the end of the task, each team will showcase their solution architecture and technology choices back to the wider group as part of a group discussion.
This is an excellent opportunity to try out Solution Architecture in a collaborative, supportive and fun environment. Food and drinks will be provided, with vegetarian and vegan options available.
