leeds.tech, in association with Hippo Campus, presents the first in a series of skills events in Leeds. Over the coming months, we’ll be collaborating with some of the finest minds in the City to shine a light on the many skills that make up the digital sector.
First up – Agile.
Agile is the method used by the top technology businesses in the world, as a recent statistic identifies that 87% of organisations say agile enables them to improve their management of shifting priorities.
As part of the Leeds Digital Festival, Indigo Blue Consulting, Mastek and Graft are bringing you an opportunity to explore optimised Agile delivery methods in a hands-on capacity.
The top reasons companies adopt Agile include the following:
To hasten product time to market
To handle changing priorities more easily and efficiently
To improve alignment of IT objectives with business objectives
To increase overall productivity
Who should attend?
Are you a recent graduate or wishing to learn about roles in the technology sector? Do you wonder if your skills could cross over? Heard of phrases such as sprints and scrum masters and would like to understand more?
Come and join us to learn from a world-class agile delivery expert, Laurence Wood, who will be leading and facilitating the session.
Laurence is an APMG®-accredited examiner (Agile® DSDM®) and leadership coach.
His career has taken him from Jaguar apprentice to Agile Programme Manager at Callcredit Information Group, via City of London head of IT. He is now Leeds based but travels globally.
Working in groups, you’ll explore techniques for improving your personal impact and find a few that best suit your style to take away and try. Ideal for anyone looking to improve and deliver effective ways of communication.
We have a limited number of spaces on the Workshop, so book early.
If you can’t attend the workshop or don’t manage to get a ticket, we also have a number of companies in attendance to discuss potential career opportunities within the sector. Feel free to drop by and say hello at any point from 2pm onwards.
