Living with Machines – The role of AI in Creative and Cultural Industries

Hosted by British Library

Will AI change what we wear, what we are seeing on TV, what books we read? Join us to explore in conversation with our expert panel. The discussion is inspired by The British Library and Alan Turing Institute’s Living with Machines project, in partnership with AI Tech North UK.

We are witnessing an exponential rise of AI in our everyday lives – from the use of our data by social media, to the algorithms working out what we buy, how we vote and what we eat. Much less known is that AI is increasingly underpinning the cultural and creative spheres of our lives. As in all other sectors, uses of AI are leading to new and exciting opportunities, but also bringing new challenges.

During this event we will hear from a panel of experts about the use of AI in fashion, beauty, broadcasting, arts, and heritage, and how this might impact our lives, and possibly our identity in the years to come.
