This is your opportunity to get to know the investors, who could work best for you and what they are looking for. Meet and learn from founders who have been through the funding process and how venture capital helped them scale.
Mike Clarke – Partner at YFM, a tech investor with 40 years track record in Yorkshire, providing £2m to £6m Series A investment.
Dan Smith – Head of Yorkshire at LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group, typically investing £5m+
Andy Naylor – Investment Director at Northern Gritstone, aimed to support science and IP-rich businesses in the north, many originating from the Universities of Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield
Elli Bilous – representing NorthInvest’s group of angel investors, providing seed capital into the region’s digital start ups
Adam Hildreth – the Founder and CEO of Crisp, the real-time risk intelligence company, raised $25m from Baird Capital in 2018, before a sale to Kroll in May ‘22
Zandra Moore – Co-Founder and CEO of Panintelligence, the high-growth data visualisation and analytics software developer, raised £4.5m from YFM and Comhar Capital in 2020
Mitali Mookerjee – Founder and CEO of CastRooms, social streaming for live music, raised a pre-seed round of £175K from Angels and FFFs in 2022. Mitali also co-chair at MAP Charity and secured over £2m in 2019 from social investors, Leeds City Council and ERDF.
The reverse pitch starts with short presentations by invited investors. Each is given three minutes to introduce themselves, their expertise and focus. After every pitch, there will be a two-minute Q&A from the host. The event ends with audience questions, followed by networking.
The aim of the event is to clarify the process of fundraising, explain the funding landscape and connect entrepreneurs into the Yorkshire investor community, as well as give investors the opportunity to demystify their processes and explain what they typically look for in making investment decisions.
