A new wave of affordable VR technology allows us to engage our audience like never before. The impact of this is starting to be seen in areas as diverse as education, marketing, events and more. It offers an opportunity to create new experiences which communicate your message in a memorable way.
But if you haven’t previously used these techniques then getting orientated in this new world can seem daunting. This presentation will help you get started by sharing experiences from the Distance Learning Unit at Leeds Beckett University.
We’ll show you how to capture and share your environment using 360-degree photography, immersive video and 3D scanning. We’ll discuss how VR headsets can be used to transform your surroundings and how to use mix reality to combine the real world with the digital.
The Distance Learning Unit was created in 2013 to allow Leeds Beckett University to respond to an increased demand from distance learning students for high quality, best practice, online learning material. Today, we support 40 online postgraduate courses in subjects as diverse as Psychology, Education, Built Environment, Business, Law and Computer Security. These have attracted over 1000 students from 64 different countries who now engage with the University’s tutors, resources and support services entirely online.
