Speakers:
- James Talbot – Senior Associate in Intellectual Property
James is a senior associate in Pinsent Mason’s national strategic/transactional IP team. His practice combines intellectual property, information technology and data protection expertise with a focus on technology and life science clients. James regularly advises clients on their commercial contracting arrangements, including agreements relating to licence, supply, research and development, collaboration and confidentiality as well as more general intellectual property/data protection advisory work. Since joining Pinsent Masons in 2022 James has worked to strengthen Pinsent Masons presence in the north of England including an extended onsite secondment with a major life sciences client with offices in Yorkshire.
- Lindsay Lawton, Senior Associate in Litigation
Lindsay has been an Associate in the Litigation team. Lindsay has advised numerous clients on a wide range of litigation matters, including breach of contract and negligence claims and claims for injunctive relief. Examples of her experience include acting for an IT supplier and its insurer in defending alleged breaches of contract arising from the deletion of customer data and acting for an insured developer of software and websites in defending allegations of breach of contract and negligence. She has experience in respect of termination disputes including acting for a public company regarding the compensation payable following the termination of an outsourcing agreement and acting for a lifestyle and management solutions company in relation to a termination dispute regarding contracts for the management of leisure centres. She also has been involved in advising in relation to professional negligence claims including acting for two individuals in relation to a professional negligence claim against an investment advisory firm in respect of allegations of negligent investment advice.
- Rob Cunningham, Senior Associate, Corporate
Rob is experienced in acting on a wide variety of corporate transactions with a particular focus on private equity work in the technology sector. As well as acting for private equity houses and other institutional investors, he advises founders and management teams on funding rounds, strategic investments, primary and secondary buy-outs and private company M&A. Rob works on a day-to-day basis with clients in sectors and markets including IT infrastructure, Cyber Security, AI, hyperautomation, fintech, medtech, SaaS and tech-consultancy as well as providers of applications and platforms. Rob is based in our Leeds team but regularly works cross-office including with teams in other jurisdictions to project manage cross-border transactions.
