There’s an impressive amount of tech knowledge and expertise right here in Leeds. And as busy people, it’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and not make time to look outside our own industry for new ideas and inspiration. We’d love our event to be an opportunity for us all to learn from and be inspired by each other.
Leeds has a thriving healthcare tech scene. West Yorkshire Combined Authority describes the region as “a global leader in health and digital technology”. It’s incredible to imagine how many people across Leeds in any given working day, are writing code that saves lives.
It’s a big claim but it’s a realistic one – the NHS’s front-line GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and hospital clinicians rely on tech to help them provide the best possible care for their patients every single day. Waiting times are reduced, accurate care is given, and allergies are spotted and worked around, all because of the data available to clinicians at the touch of a button.
EMIS has always been at the forefront of the healthtech sector in Leeds, and in this event, we want to discuss and celebrate why as a sector and a region we can feel proud of the contribution that Leeds is making to the lives of millions of people across the UK.
The event is open to anyone interested in networking in Leeds’ thriving health tech sector. The event will be of specific interest to anyone in software engineering and development, UX designers, product professionals – in short, anyone in a tech role who wants to learn more about how health tech as a career can be deeply personally rewarding, helping to improve the lives of millions across the UK.
Join us as we walk you through a patient journey and show the work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure that our GPs, pharmacists and nurses have the right technology to provide faster, better, and innovative care to patients. We all have experience of the healthcare sector from our own personal healthcare journey, or that of friends and family. But not many people know about the technology that supports that healthcare journey, and the incredible work that goes on right here in Leeds to support the majority of clinicians across the UK to provide life-changing healthcare on a daily basis.
There will be a panel of clinicians, tech directors and engineers showcasing the impact tech has within our healthcare system. There will be an opportunity to network amongst like-minded people at the end of the presentation.
