“It’s time to say goodbye to old school leadership, see ya later to micromanagement, and good riddance to toxic work environments.
As part of the next Leeds Digital Festival, we’ll be saying hello to the new leadership style in town, one that’s grounded in compassion, empathy and people. Leaders of today, and tomorrow, are already shifting away from the Donald Trump’s and Alan Sugar’s of the world, and more towards Jacinda Arden and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex. This may be true, but classic leadership still favours the more traditional and aggressive styles. If that’s what we’ve always experienced then how can we be immune to replicating this ourselves?
This is where design comes in. I believe that understanding and applying design principles to how you lead, coach and motivate your team will make you a better leader. One that’s fit for the future, and not the past. At this session, I’ll be sharing the core design principles that’ll make you a better leader and how to apply them in your day-to-day, as well as sharing my own experience along the way.
