Cybersecurity: The Human Problem AI Can’t Fix

Organised by Audacia

The first in-person episode of Technically Speaking, marking the start of the new podcast series

Cybersecurity has topped the CIO priority list for four consecutive years. Budgets have grown, frameworks have matured, and security tooling has never been more advanced. And yet 66% of CISOs say their greatest vulnerability is still people, and 76% anticipate a material cyberattack in the next 12 months.

AI is changing the threat landscape faster than most organisations can respond to it. Social engineering is more targeted, phishing is harder to spot, and the volume of AI-generated code entering production is creating a new category of security risk that most teams are still figuring out.

A live first event of our new podcast series, in this session, Philip White will chair a panel of senior technology leaders, discussing some of the biggest challenges in cybersecurity right now – from social engineering and human error, to the impact of AI on cyber threats and what quantum computing means for encryption in the longer term.

Join us for drinks, an hour of conversation, followed by networking with peers navigating the same challenges.

What we’ll be discussing:

  • Social engineering and human error – why people remain the biggest uncontrolled risk, and what’s actually working to address it
  • AI as an attack enabler – how generative AI is making cybercrime more targeted, personalised, and scalable
  • Cybersecurity as a boardroom priority – moving cybersecurity from an IT function to a boardroom priority
  • AI-generated code – as development accelerates, the security implications of code that hasn’t had full human review
  • Software supply chain risk – the impact of AI on open-source software, and the increased need for robust software supply chain management
  • Brief look ahead – quantum computing and the coming threat to encryption

Agenda
