When these groups amplify false theories online their digital chatter can drown out scientific fact and undermine the credentials of climate scientists. These actor groups vary in profile and purpose. Some are politically motivated, while others represent private corporate interests. Their online narratives are designed to confuse and disrupt the online conversation about our environment.
During this session, Crisp will look at the mis and disinformation lessons learned from Covid-19 and how they apply to the current climate conversation. By using the signals from digital chatter and the online behaviours of actor groups to discover, classify and predict emerging risks to our environment, we can make the digital (and physical) world a safer place for everyone.
