BOSS – Be Online and Stay Safe: Media literacy with older people

Organised by 100% Digital Leeds

Join us for this exciting webinar to celebrate Leeds Digital Festival where we’ll share the amazing work of the Be Online and Stay Safe (BOSS) project!

BOSS was a collaboration between Leeds Older People’s Forum, 100% Digital Leeds, and 5 delivery partners who support older people across Leeds. The project explored challenges older people across diverse communities face when navigating the online world, such as staying safe online, accessing accurate information online, and overcoming digital inclusion barriers. This project was funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology Fund (DSIT).

Event topics:

  • Share how the project supported older people across diverse communities to develop their confidence, digital skills, and enhanced their knowledge around media literacy and health literacy;
  • Highlight the key findings from the external evaluation, lessons learned, and how the project was adapted to meet the needs of the people involved;
  • Share tips on how you can adapt the learnings from BOSS to fit the needs of your own users and utilise the resources that have been developed – such as how-to guides, digital skills assessments, and session plans.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn more about the project and find out ways you can use the learning and resources to best support the people you work with! There will be varied speakers from Leeds Older People Forum,100% Digital Leeds and Older People’s organisations across Leeds.
