SEP2, in collaboration with Leeds City College, is delighted to announce the event “An Introduction to Cyber Security – Attack, Defend and Analyse “.
Participants will gain insights into various aspects of the organization through the lens of attack, defence, and analysis. The event will feature interactive activities, a guided tour of the Lab and the Security Operations Centre (SOC), and the opportunity to engage with staff from both Leeds City College and SEP2. Our attack introduction will feature the types of attackers and their motives as well as the processes they will follow over the course of an attack. We will also cover how an attack may actualise seeing how simple credential theft can domino into the major compromise of an organisation.
In our defence introduction, we will be discussing networking, the core of all technological communication, and how data flows at a high level. In this, we will also see how we identify, control, and prevent varying forms of traffic through the use of dedicated hardware. To showcase the role of an analyst we will discuss the value and lifecycle of a log and the varying technologies we work with in the industry. We will look at how specialists will create the underlying logic behind being made aware of suspicious activity. Each discussion will be underpinned by accessible, takeaway resources to help signpost attendees on developing skills for their career.
