The words ‘you need a business plan’ can send the shivers down the spine of the most hardened businessman (or woman of course!). The dread of just thinking about vision, mission, values, resource, costings, target audiences, marketing strategy, growth plans, investment requirements, 3 year horizons etc etc means that, according to research by Barclays, 1 in 4 SME’s do not have a business plan at all, with another 1 in 4 having only an informal/verbal one. I wonder how different that stat is for creative and digital agencies?
This session is designed to address that very issue and provide agency owners with everything they need to create a plan for their business so that they can make sure that they know where their business is heading, what it is trying to achieve and what it is going to do get there. From proposition and elevator pitch development and new business/business development strategy through to all things commercial and financial.
The session will be run as part of the Leeds Digital Festival by David Crawford from The Digital Strategy Unit and Stuart Ramsay from Accountancy Extra. David has over 25 years of agency experience - having held senior roles at Made by Pi (when it was Pilot Interactive), twentysix, McCann, BJL and most recently at Branded3 where he was Managing Director. Stuart has an in-depth knowledge of the numbers that drive an agency's profits and growth, built up over 10 years whilst looking after the finance function for a large number of agencies throughout the UK, through his business, Accountancy Extra.
