Festival Update March

27th March 2017

This year’s festival is now less than one month away and things have really taken off with more events, venues and companies signing up every day. Here’s just a preview of what we’ve been up to and what to expect at Leeds Digital Festival 2017.

In March we went from 43 to 50 and then 60 events all within one week. We now have over 70 events live on the website with many more in the pipeline, so keep checking back so you don’t miss out.

We’ve also been working hard offline with the arrival of our banners and finalising of our printed posters and programs that will be coming to streets, bars and venues near you.

As well as our posters you’ll be able to see Leeds Digital Festival coming to screens around Leeds, we’re working with 8 Outdoor and the Big Screen at Millennium Square and will have video animations running throughout April. Let us know if you spot our adverts at Pinnacle by the Trinity Shopping Centre, York Road or Millennium Square.

We’ve also been busy on social media, last Friday we hit 100 Instagram followers and 1,500 Facebook likes all in the same day and have had some fantastic engagement and activity with our Twitter account too. A huge part of this is down to Engage who are partnering with us for our paid social & Google advertising and have produced top quality work and gone above and beyond at every turn.

It’s also been great to have support from local and national press as we were featured in the Yorkshire Evening Post – Digital City and in the Tech Nation 2017 report by Tech City

In a new addition to the Leeds Digital Festival, this year we are very excited to announce our partnership with Vcode. Like QR codes but supercharged and with a load of additional features. Get the app on the App Store or Google Play and look out for the Vcodes in our program and at events. Learn more about Vcodes by scanning the one below:

In another new partnership for this year we’ve teamed up with Arc Inspirations to offer you all food & drinks discounts and some of Leeds tops bars & venues for the week of the festival. Sign up to our mailing list and we’ll send you a voucher to get 20% off food and discounts on numerous drinks at Banyan, Manahatta, The Pit, Arc, Kith & Kin and Box.

With all of this going on we’re really getting excited for this year’s festival which will be a great week for Leeds and everyone involved in Leeds’ vibrant digital sector.

Looking forward to seeing you all in April.
